Samoa Medium carbon steel series 45#

45 # steel is a high-quality carbon steel with a carbon content of 0.42% -0.50%, as well as alloy elements such as manganese (0.50% -0.80%) and silicon (0.17% -0.37%), while controlling the content of impurities such as chromium, nickel, phosphorus, and sulfur.

Product Description

45 # steel is a high-quality carbon steel with a carbon content of 0.42% -0.50%, as well as alloy elements such as manganese (0.50% -0.80%) and silicon (0.17% -0.37%), while controlling the content of impurities such as chromium, nickel, phosphorus, and sulfur. It belongs to medium carbon steel, with certain plasticity and toughness, high strength, tensile strength ≥ 600MPa, yield strength ≥ 355MPa, elongation ≥ 16%, and section shrinkage ≥ 40%. The comprehensive mechanical properties can be obtained by using quenching treatment (quenching and high-temperature tempering), with a quenching temperature of usually 840 ℃ and a tempering temperature of about 600 ℃. Poor hardenability, water quenching is prone to cracking. Poor weldability requires preheating before welding and annealing after welding to eliminate stress, but good welding results can still be achieved by controlling welding parameters and post weld heat treatment.
