65Mn spring steel, also known as 65 manganese, is a spring steel material that complies with the GB/T 1222-2007 standard. This steel type enhances the quenchability by adding manganese, and has the characteristics of a smaller surface decarburization tendency compared to silicon steel, and superior comprehensive mechanical properties to carbon steel. The strength, hardness, elasticity and quenchability of 65mn are all higher than those of 65 steel. It has a tendency to be sensitive to overheating and brittle during tempering, and has a tendency to form cracks during water quenching. The machinability of the as-received state is acceptable, but the cold deformation plasticity is low, and the welding property is poor. It is suitable for plate springs under medium load, helical springs with diameters of 7 - 20mm, spring washers, spring rings, high wear-resistant parts such as the main shaft of a grinding machine, spring heads, precision machine tool screw rods, cutting tools, sleeve rings on screw rollers bearings, railway rails, etc.
