High carbon steel series T7
Classification:
T7 steel is a type of carbon tool steel, with the implementation standard of GB/T1298-2008. It is mainly used in the manufacturing of mechanical parts and tools that can withstand vibration, impact, and require both toughness and hardness. Its carbon content is about 0.65% -0.74%, and the sulfur and phosphorus element content is lower than that of ordinary structural steel to reduce cold and hot brittleness.
This material has moderate hardness (up to 48-54HRC after quenching) and high toughness, but low thermal hardness and poor hardenability. The physical properties include a density of 7.83t/m3 and a resistivity of 0.13 × 10 Ω?? Ω· m, with a magnetic permeability of approximately 0.94mH/m. Suitable for manufacturing tools with high impact resistance requirements such as chisels, dies, forging dies, woodworking tools, agricultural machinery cutting tools, as well as mechanical parts such as spring plates and pin shafts. Compared with high-quality carbon structural steel No. 70, T7 steel achieves the unique performance balance of tool steel through stricter composition control, but there are limitations in terms of cutting performance.
T8 steel is a type of eutectoid carbon tool steel with high hardness and wear resistance after quenching and tempering, but it has characteristics such as low thermal hardness, poor hardenability, and easy deformation due to overheating during processing. This material complies with the GB/T 1298 series standards, with a carbon content ranging from 0.75% to 0.84%, and is suitable for manufacturing simple shaped cold work molds and cutting tools [1]. The quenching process requires controlling the water cooling temperature of 780-800 ℃, and tempering above 250 ℃ can ensure dimensional stability, but it is not suitable for working conditions that can withstand impact loads.
Material Standard GB/T 1298-1986
Carbon content 0.75% -0.84%
Annealing hardness ≤ 187HB
Quenching temperature 780-800 ℃
Application field: Cold work molds
Quenching depth ≤ 8mm
T9 is a high carbon tool steel, belonging to ordinary manganese non alloy steel with a carbon content of 0.90%, corresponding to international standards including Japanese JIS SK4, American AISI/SAE W1A-8 1/2, etc. The upper limit of silicon content in its chemical composition shall not exceed 0.35%. The main suppliers include Ningbo Sanda Metal Materials Technology Co., Ltd. and Ningbo Wanze Materials Co., Ltd., with product specifications covering round steel and plates ranging from Φ 20 to Φ 195 [1-2]. After quenching at 770-790 ℃ and tempering at 180 ± 10 ℃, the hardness of this steel can reach 62HRC, exhibiting high hardness, high wear resistance, and moderate toughness. The application areas cover industrial scenarios such as automobile manufacturing, mechanical manufacturing, and precision electronics, and are suitable for manufacturing tools such as cold heading punch heads, scrapers, files, drills, and saw blades. We provide customized processing services such as stamping, bending, laser cutting, etc. The material grade is genuine and comes with a warranty certificate.
Product Type: Tool Steel
Carbon content above 0.8%
T10 steel is a type of carbon tool steel with a carbon mass fraction of 0.95% to 1.04%. It is supplied in annealed state and has a hardness of ≤ 197HBW. Its chemical composition includes elements such as silicon (≤ 0.35%) and manganese (≤ 0.40%). It corresponds to international standardized grades such as Chinese standard grade T10 steel, German DIN standard grade C105W2, and Japanese JIS standard grade SK105/SK95.
This steel is processed through normalizing (830-850 ° C air cooling) and annealing (750-760 ° C furnace cooling) processes, and is suitable for making tools such as stamping dies and cutting blades. The hardness of the punching die convex die is 58-62HRC, and the hardness of the concave die is 60-64HRC. After two cycles of quenching, superplasticity with a maximum elongation of 192% and a flow stress of 40.8 MPa can be achieved within the temperature range of 680-720 ° C. The optimized parameters for laser quenching are a power of 1500W and a scanning speed of 5mm/s. The microhardness of the hardened layer reaches 839 HV, and the transition zone contains structures such as martensite and pearlite. The surface adopts self propagating high-temperature boronizing eutectic technology to obtain a 1.6mm thick infiltration layer, which is composed of α - Fe and Fe3 (C, B) phases.
